Chicago Leather Kennel Club, NPO is a voluntary, non-profit organization, founded in February 2004 by Thom Dombkowski (former International Mr. Leather Chief Judge) and Chuck Windemuth (Mr. Chicago Leather 1991 and IML 1991 Top 20 Semi-finalist).

Jeff & Tony at CLAW2006After a very successful debut during International Mr. Leather 2004, the Chicago Leather Kennel Club  - the Midwest's premiere leather/BDSM contestant development and support team -  is currently hard at work assisting local, regional, national and international titleholders as they prepare for competition.

The goal of the CLKC is to provide the leather/BDSM community with various methods of assistance and support for the aspiring leather men and women entering a first contest event, as well as mentoring current reigning titleholders during their pursuit of a local, regional, national or international contest title. We provide these services free of charge to our global leather community that supports countless community leather/ BDSM contests and programs worldwide.

We proudly represent and assist any interested leather/BDSM men and women, regardless of contestant geographical location, personal club affiliations or leather /BDSM event contestant is entering.

By identifying the specific needs for each individual contestant, the CLKC utilizes it's own extensive personal club resource library and area community assistance to create and sponsor various workshops and seminars, all geared to providing contestants with the best possible competitive edge as they "dash for the sash".

Examples of club programs available include:
  • Hosting "So You Want To Be A Contestant" seminars that create an informal, relaxed atmosphere allowing anyone the opportunity to speak directly with club members on leather contest issues and concerns. These seminars are held in locations and include involvement from various clubs and organizations that support the CLKC.  These seminars and have shown to increase the number of contestants that enter local title events year after year.
  • Design and host specific contestant workshops that focus on all areas of competition such as leather image (formal wear vs. bar wear), physique/jock, judges interview sessions, speech, etc.
  • Conduct "mock panel" sessions that focus individual contestant skills in areas of public speaking, stage presence, working with props, "The Do's and Don'ts", preparing and delivering the winning "Fantasy" in competition, etc.
Membership into CLKC is open to anyone that would like to provide voluntary support to their leather brothers and sisters and no prior contest experience or title is required.

In 2006 CLKC became incorporated and accepted formal bylaws on January 19, 2007.
